Western Envoys Walk Out On Ahmadinejad

Given Ahmadinejad has made some very offensive statements in the past, this is very low on the totem pole.

What does it say about Canada's and the rest of the West's envoys at the UN anti-racism conference in Geneva that they would walk out on a speech defending the Palestinians? I'm rather disappointed that we do not have more mature, and more sympathetic, representatives on the international stage. Ahmadinejad will continue to make the West look like Israeli lackies and fools on this issue because this is certainly one thing he has gotten right: the Palestinians suffer extreme oppression from an extremely racist Israeli society that is illegally occupying their land.

Every word he says is true, except for the bit where he fails to mention what the Jews were fleeing Europe from.

Jews were moving into Israel before Nazi Germany.

And severe anti-semitism was happening in Europe well before the Holocaust. Russia was famous for its pogroms.

True. And that's rather abhorrent, but does not provide license to do the same to the Palestinians and Ahmadinejad is right to come to their defense.

He speech was about the wrongs done to the Palestinians, not the wrongs done to the Jewish people, as this is 2009, not 1929.

Indeed, but he doesn't do his cause any justice by saying they "came to Palestine to create a racist regime". That is patently false. Everyone was a racist then.

The wrongs done to the Palestinians are causally the result of the wrongs done to the European Jews.

No. The wrongs done to the Palestinians are causally the result of decisions by Israelis to do them wrong.

Using your logic, ALL WRONGS ARE EXCUSE BECAUSE THEY ARE CAUSALLY THE RESULT OF THE EVOLUTION OF MANKIND.

No wrong should then be prosecuted because it is not the cause of freewill, but all events leading to the circumstance. All wrongs are simply caused by circumstance and that means noone should be punished.

Bullshit.

Never argued that, either. GET YOUR HEAD OUT OF YOUR ASS, JOSH..

Which is causally related to politicians using Jews as scapegoats, which is causally related to government, which is causally related to man's need to organize society fairly, which is causally related to the existence of man, which is causally related to the earth being this close to the sun, which is causally related to the big bang. ITS THE BIG BANG'S FAULT THE PALESTINIANS ARE BEING PERSECUTED!!!!

If you are not arguing that, then why even mention why the Israeli people are doing harm. Its not as if the Palestinians have given the Israeli's reason to do them harm. If Israeli's needed a place to go so that they wouldn't do harm to anyone else, maybe the US Government, with it monopoly on morality, should have done more to protect the Palestinians then and allowed more Jewish people to come to American instead, where they could live peacefully. However, we both know that the reason these particular Jewish people chose Israel has more to do with their religion than their exile from Europe.

My point is that we non-Jews in the West have a responsibility to end this conflict, instead of prolonging it as we are. That is the import of me continually brining up the causal relationship between Israel and the European Jews diaspora.
