"But rightful liberty is unobstructed action according to our will within limits drawn around us by the equal rights of others. I do not add 'within the limits of the law,' because law is often but the tyrant's will, and always so when it violates the right of an individual."
Thomas Jefferson

What a retarded song. "We" don't run away. "We" don't agree with your retarded, "co-opt leftwing music" message.
Meh, you're just bitter that the youth are more politically motivated toward liberty than socialism.
No, sorry, some of the "youth" are... You forget the "youth" of the the other half of the 100,000,000 American voters.
That sit on their asses eating chips and watching American Idol until they have to vote once every 4 years.
Some of them do that, sure, but some of the "youth" of the right does the same.
Again, you seem to think you are part of some universal movement permeating our entire generation. You are not.
"Again, you seem to think you are part of some universal movement permeating our entire generation. You are not."
No. I'm aware the majority of people in the world do not think the way I think.
What I do think is that Ron Paul's movement is attracting more youth activists/volunteers in the United States than any other movement.
Yes, but because of the propagandist textbooks that come out of Texas and because of the business schools. When it comes to actual debate, your paradigm loses, over and over and over..
"Yes, but because of the propagandist textbooks that come out of Texas and because of the business schools."
Ron Paul if filling out 2 - 5 thousand seated halls at campuses all over the country...what does this have to do with Texas?
Besides, as much I think the education system preaches too much religion, leaves out too much of the real history of Texas, and is almost racist, that's what happens with a public education system in the hands of people you don't agree with. If you're for public education, then don't bash one particular instance of it because its your philosophy that enables the Texas board of education to push their propaganda on children all over the state.

Um, your ideology comes directly from that mix. Directly.
The public school system is sound in principle; it is the people of Texas that are wrong. That is, the people who voted the previous school board into power.

You mean the majority isn't always RIGHT? I thought this was one of your few principles you hold to be absolute?
Obviously the public school system is not sound in principle. Its used as a tool to indoctrinate children. Texas is simply an extreme instance of this.
And to determine where MY ideology comes from, you'd need to go a little close to the roots...Thomas Jefferson, who is pretty much an atheist.
"You mean the majority isn't always RIGHT? I thought this was one of your few principles you hold to be absolute?"
They are right in principles, in believing what they believe and applying it politically, but wrong in content. The only way that content will be changed is if they are engaged.
"Obviously the public school system is not sound in principle. Its used as a tool to indoctrinate children. Texas is simply an extreme instance of this."
Lol, there is no such thing as non-indoctrinational education, Josh.
"And to determine where MY ideology comes from, you'd need to go a little close to the roots...Thomas Jefferson, who is pretty much an atheist."
What? No he wasn't. He was a deist.
"Lol, there is no such thing as non-indoctrinational education, Josh. "
True, but the indoctrination should be left to the parents not the politicians.
"What? No he wasn't. He was a deist."
Sorry. You're right. However his beliefs and philosophy are not even close to those evangelicals which hijacked the board of education in Texas.
"True, but the indoctrination should be left to the parents not the politicians."
That's retarded, Josh. The parents are not teachers. They can not and should not try to dictate what teachers teach. This should be obvious to anyone who has thought it through.

Parents are absolutely teachers, and parents absolutely should be involved in what their child is taught. Your perspective is only obvious to those who do not give it enough thought and live under the assumption public schools will teach their children everything they need to know to be a productive individual in our society when in reality the public schools fall VERY VERY short. To those of us who think it through and understand how fucked up the public education system is, we understand fully that parents should be generally playing a much larger roll in the education of a child.
"Parents are absolutely teachers,"
Nope. They are not elementary, middle, or high school teachers. They are not qualified.
I think you means something else by "teacher".
"and parents absolutely should be involved in what their child is taught."
Nope. They should be involved in making sure their children follow the rules and attempt to learn what is taught.

I have no idea what you are talking about? Are you suggesting that philosophy should be taught in the schools?
"To those of us who think it through and understand how fucked up the public education system is, we understand fully that parents should be generally playing a much larger roll in the education of a child."
I'm sorry, how is it fucked up?
