This video is what is known as a straw man.
Most of the experts said it COULD lead to a computer shut down. They did not say it WOULD like Rex Murphy said they did. Rex has therefore tore apart a straw man.
There was no "industry" either. Programmers first mentioned the potential problem, IN 1985, and since no one really knew what would happen, people prepared for the worst. That's what people do, they prepare.
