This video almost brought tears to my eyes...not sure why...probably a mix of the tone of the voice and what is supposed to be inspirational background music mixed with the depressing message. Plus, there's a realization of how quickly the greatest middle class to ever exist is being wiped out...the $700 billion bailout has the support of 7% of the population in the US and the congress is hearing it...this video is a parody, I'm used to comedic parody, this is a parody of the tragic reality...

Doesn't bring tears to my eyes at all. The falling wages in the service industry, construction industry, farming industry, and automotive industry is creating a deflation in economic growth. This leads to "housing bubbles", because for each wage dollar lost to "free-market capitalism", 2 dollars are lost for the surrounding businesses. In other words, falling wages create a domino effect which effects the income of businesses in the economy. If you don't have customers who can afford your product, then your income falls. Basic supply and demand.
Have you seen the Notebook yet, Furlong? If this ad you cry, you are in for a doozie.
As for the music, I wouldn't really call Teenage Wasteland the most inspirational of tunes. Minor details though...
Beside the point, I guess. What I wonder, though, is whether or not you make these posts at your desk at RIM. If I am not mistaken, RIM, your employer and an icon of Canadian innovation and success, got its jumpstart on a fanatstic government loan. A young, university grad with a big idea, but little money, was given a shot of cash by his provincial government to help his ideas blossom into this monstrous success. It was on this boost, I understand, that he was able to grow and experiment, get a foot in the door and, only after the grant, was able to convince investors this idea was worthwhile. The grant, then, created jobs for thousands of Canadians, yourself included, and made the luxuries of housing and health the internet available to anyone reading this.
I understand this oversight, considering the emotional stress one might be under after such a powerful clip.
Retraction...
Got carried away. The grant may not be responsible for the luxuries of all reading this. That would be outlandish and overgeneralized. I understand how much we hate this at Furlong Colony 2.
The point should be understood all the same.
