"But rightful liberty is unobstructed action according to our will within limits drawn around us by the equal rights of others. I do not add 'within the limits of the law,' because law is often but the tyrant's will, and always so when it violates the right of an individual."
Thomas Jefferson

Personality cults are dangerous, Josh.
Then stop treating Ron Paul as the "great leader".
He's not really a great leader.
Then stop treating Ron Paul as a "great thinker".
He's a decent thinker with great integrity.
Whom you hold up as a leader. That is personality cultism.
I'm not sure how my respect for Ron Paul, and agreement with Ron Paul equals any kind of cultism.
Because you said that giving in on one point means giving up the entire system of thought. That sort of thinking is cultist type thinking.
My whole system of thought basically says that if its illegal and immoral for an individual to do something, it is illegal and immoral for the government to do that same thing.
Yes, and that is a return to poverty.

Unfortunately history has not been the result of morals. Instead, it has been the result of might makes right. Hence the corporations using their might to return civilization to poverty.
"Hence the corporations using their might to return civilization to poverty."
And this is much easier when they have an all powerful government to manipulate.
Yes, but that is the way it has always been! I don't see libertarians demonstrating in the streets. I only see left wingers.

When you expect the government to do good, and they do bad (constantly) it will get more people upset. When you know the government will do bad, and they just keep doing bad, this is not new and does insight the same emotional anger.
However, you should youtube some Ron Paul rallies and you'll see some people marching in the streets.
Unfortunately, main stream media doesn't really report on protests anymore so we don't get to see the left protest or the right.

People are mad at the corporations for moving to India and China, Josh. The government, as long as it does not trample all over the bill of rights, is not really a concern. The American nation assumes government. That is why there is a constitution and why there was such an outcry over the Patriot Act.
Yes. There was a large outcry over the patriot act. and the FISA bill. and the bailout. Yet government does these things anyway.
Yet the first only came from a small segment of the population. The outcry over the Patriot Act came from both the center and left.
